  1. Wow - great progress! I nearly bought this car (owned for many years by a doctor, if memory serves) back in April this year. Had the train ticket ready, but the other half decided we needed to move house. Looks like the guy who did buy it then rapidly proceeded to stick it in a hedge! http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?90959-Finally-a-Corrado-Owner! Glad you're bringing it back. Apparently back in the Spring the car had no chain rattle at all, so no work needed was what I was told by the guy selling her from near Manchester.....

  3. Shows up the newer stuff for what it is. Dull, dull, dull :thumbleft:
  4. I would spray some 3-in-1 silicone lubricant on to a cloth & then wipe the spoiler supports in the up position, putting on a thin, even layer. Raise & lower a few times & job done.
  5. Cheers Emma. Looks perfect! An imminent house move has meant that my search for a VR6 has been delayed. :(
  6. Very nice. Was going to go & look at this one but didn't pan out.
  7. Ok I'm in. New chain/tensioner kit & VR6 clutch for £250. What could possibly go wrong... I have a chisel & a phillips screwdriver. No previous engineering experience apart from changing an air filter & a fuel pump relay. What other tools & equipment do I need for these jobs & how much would they cost?
  8. As I understand it if you're planning on getting chains & tensioners done then you may as well get the clutch done at the same time as it's only another hour or so in labour as 90% of the work getting at it is done. Vice-versa, absolutely no point getting a new clutch & not doing the chain & tensioners unless they've recently been replaced or it's a really low miler with a quiet chain. Apart from piece of mind it's a massive resale bonus in a few years time if you find another or want to just move on.
  9. Yep. Not many around. Most VR6's seem to have well over 100k miles on the clock & surprise surprise haven't had the chain/tensioners/clutch job carried out. Budget for another £2k if that hasn't been done.
  10. Stanced with a leopardskin wrap would be my humble suggestion. Then "sell" it to a member of the production team for a small profit. :afro:
  11. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/417442/V888_200315.pdf Just say you're interested in this rare car's history & are a member of an owners club. £5 later you get photocopies of all previous owners V5's & a nice list of names, addresses & dates of ownership. Well worth it.
  12. Red front VR6 grill badge with clips is the holy grail though, right?
  13. If Mike only bought it a few days ago & the episode is due to go out in October, then my bet is that the car will be worked on in the next few weeks or couple of months & be up for sale in the Summer.
  14. Big fat parallel parking fail. It amazes me how some people pass their tests.
