  1. Location: Manchester Price: 1450.00 GBP Date added to Classifieds: 28th Dec 2011 Description: With a heavy heart, I’m selling my VW Corrado, and the only reason for selling is the missus has decided to work from home, so we don’t need two cars. Shame really. I only bought the car in October with the intention of getting it pristine for the 2012 VW shows. Since I bought it, it’s been money no object. She comes in the best colour, dark burgundy pearl. I use it every day for work & seeing it parked next to the modern boxes called cars sure does put a huge smile on your face! Features/good points: Clifford 650 MKII Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser with window closure Alpine CDE-126BT Head unit with full Bluetooth connectivity & iPod connection JL Audio 5 ¼” component speakers in the front doors 17" RipSpeed alloy wheels in excellent condition, good tyres all round. Full service at Awesome GTI less than a thousand miles ago Full electric diagnostics at Just VW New ignition switch fitted, that pesky problem with all old VWs! KW Variant suspension Brand new Bilstein top mounts to complement suspension. Lovely black cloth interior with purple fleck in excellent condition front and back. Long mot, and tax until April. Active rear spoiler. Performance exhaust fitted Jan 2011. All red rear lights. Underneath is fully sealed and wax oiled, solid. Owners manual, lots of bills and previous history. Low mileage for age currently on 120,000. All original paintwork. An appreciating classic car that doesn't fail to put a smile on your face as soon as you turn the ignition! Downsides/very minor. Scratch on roof, not very visible, but has been treated to disguise it. Age related stone chips to bonnet and wings, some small dings to side of car. Paint along sills has been scuffed away over time, only slightly visible when doors are shut Electric sunroof doesn't work, never investigated this, could be as simple as a fuse. Small dent to the left of the left hand side headlight, again not very noticeable Overall, an original, very clean looking 16v Corrado, in the best colour, low mileage, lots of history, well maintained, runs and drives very well, sensible modifications. A beautiful car, whoever buys will not be disappointed. The ideal New Year present!! Any questions please text or phone Adam on 0771 379 3095.
  2. Yes that would! Already crossed my mind for next year. Now where's that piggy bank...
  3. Thanks again, chaps. Once I finish work at 9.30, I'll be on t'internet looking for a good pair. With the money saved not buying the 6x9s & stealth shelf, might treat myself to a little four channel amp to power it all. Once this is all done, just get the ignition switch sorted & I'll be able to listen to muzak with a beaming grin on my face!
  4. Thanks for the advice, fellas!:thumbleft: I've the 2.0 16v, what size are the rear pillar speakers?
  5. I'm after a set to give car some ooomph in the rear. The car hi-fi place wired (I'm sure for a laugh) the ones that are in the car at present, to be honest, a pair of bean cans would sound better. I'm thinking JL as I have JL components in the front, but what have you lot got on the parcel shelf? Anyone got them on a stealth shelf?
  6. Aye, thanks for that. Just Googled it & a Wiki page has appeared telling me the VAG part number & price ( 12 Pounds) and how to fit it. I'll get my carcass down to Smith Knight Fay in the morning.
  7. I've just been thrown a curveball when picking my car up from the car hi-fi place this morning. According to the technician, Corrados & MK2 Golfs are prone to the barrels being faulty. It's causing my radio to come on, then go out intermittently. Really naffing me off as I've just spent an arm & a leg on the hi-fi & alarm, now I can't use the radio or Bluetooth! Thing is I've owned MK2's before & never encountered this problem, he says it's a wire that works loose. Hmmmm. Help!!!!! Cheers Adam
  8. Hello chaps I bought my Corrado yesterday (Wednesday), and already the renovations have started! The CAT 1 alarm is being fitted & the head unit/component speakers on Friday. Next week I think it needs a damn good servicing, it's a bit lumpy at low speeds. Might be something to do with the air/petrol mix (?) Can anyone recommend a good mechanic I can take it to? Thanks Adam
  9. Oh, I will have fun, just as I did driving home last night! Being the impatient type & the car running a tad lumpy, is there any advice on getting the air/petrol mixture right? Anyone in Manchester willing to undertake the said task?!
  10. Oh yes! Sat so low down, cruising at ahem, 70 mph on the way back, very nice! Just a bit rich on the fuel air mixture & a rattling exhaust mount are the only (Minor) gripes. Oh and that immobiliser  Hopefully these niggles will be ironed out shortly. And I forgot how heavy the power steering is compared to the missus' 207.
  11. Having ummed and ahhed for nigh on an eternity, I've just took the plunge and purchased a tidy 2.0 16v Corrado from a sound guy from Wrexham. It's a dark burgundy pearl with 119,000 on the clock. Has a few little niggles (The world's worst immobiliser being one), but nothing that my adequate spanner man can't/won't be able to sort out!:thumbleft: It's in for a Clifford Concept 650 on Friday along with an Alpine bluetooth CD/MP3 player & a full JL Audio component front build. Then to look at changing the alloys. I don't mind them, but the seller & mechanic hate them! I'll post some pics tomorrow, weather permitting Thanks Adam
