G60 | red | watton norfolk
Price:SOLD SOLD SOLD
Description:Really dont wanna sell this but need the money to get my van painted
its a 1991 on and H reg
Really nice car to drive has the power too from the 1.8 160bhp supercharged engine
Tax till end may mot till october
its totally standard that much even the spare wheel is the same, all have excellent tyres and wheels are very good too,
It has a 90mm front splitter,
its done (are you ready) 183k its had a service and the supercharger was done last year (by previous owner) have the old bits
it has a little hole in the drivers seat bolster no bigger than a 50p
n/s/r wheel arch has minor damage (see photo)
few other little marks as to be expected for a 22 year old car
it has a spare ECU that the previous owner was going to get remaped/chipped but didnt in the end
drivers door handle has decided to stop working on the outside (its the pin in the handle not pushing the release down) just needs a new handle or repair kit
it also has an starting problem , it will always start just takes 10-15 seconds, you chaps have told me its the coolant temperature sensor, which means (for the people who dont no) the coolant temp
sensor tells the ECU when the coolant is cold and so tells the cold start injector to fire on start up, which should fire more fuel into the inlet, (this is not expensive to replace about £20 and easy to do)
just haven't the time and its just sitting there
it also has an amp and 6x9s in the parcel shelf, central locking and yes the spoiler does still go up and down,
the headlining has also started to sag in places,
Windscreen also has a crack at the bottom,
think thats about it
looking for 1500 may take less for quick sale as ive lost interest in her and need my van painting

Did you use a genuine VW part? what does this one measure?na i got it from GSF car parts, dunno what it measures but when it was running i disconnected it and the revs dropped, reconnected it and it was running as before,
if that makes sense and help
-
right managed to get the blue temp sensor today and fitted it :)
but the problem is still there :(
-
i need some help too on this
ive got the same problem with my vr6,
that struggles to idle when cold but even when warm it only idles at 650-700,
also if im driving along when i change gear it sometimes revs by itself between 2-3k up and down? to stop it i have to rev it over 3000 and it will then go back to idling at 650-700
before all this happened it would run fine and idle at 900 when cold no problems
thanks

25 had my G60 about 4 months, got it on a whim in p/x for my mk1 caddy, think it needs more power oh
-
Thanks ill give it ago when I get time
-
yep thats deffo my problem,
anyone know how to get the water pump out?
-
Found this clip and it's the same noise, quite when cold then loud when car is up to temperature. Also found a old thread and noticed the old owner had the Same issue in 2011
http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?57224-VR6-Ticking-noise
I will have a look at the weekend and see if I can find out what this is, even though its only just had an oil change by a garage when the past owner had it think a flush and new oil may help as not sure what oil they put in.
same noise as mines making,
ive just took the tensioner off and that all seems fine, theres no noise coming from the pulley onit, how ever the coolant pump pulley is wobbly and all the bolts seem tight, could this be the problem as it does make some noise when u try turning it by hand?
-
Think this is what's just happened to mine, does it also control the idle? I've read the link, where can I get the bearings from?
-
Ok where could I get or is the best place to get a blue temp sensor from and does anyone know the part no
-
ive tried starting the car this morning with the blue temp sensor off and it did start how ever a few minutes later i tried it again and it wouldnt start with it disconnected i then plugged it in and it statrted but with the problem still there.
ive looked at the vacuum hose from the throttle body to ecu and it all seems fine, if i disconnect it while the cars running you can her a change in it running then as soon as you connect it back up it goes back to normal
-
Did anyone mention the vacuum hose from the throttle body to ecu? If it is disconnected/broken - you'll get a really rich mixture.ill see if i can get alook at it today,
ill get a friend to check the multimeter at the weekend
-
And what does it mean if it does or doesn't
-
It doesn't matter in the cars left overnight or not really its a pig to start even when left for a few hours
-
Well I tried starting it and then disconnecting the blue temp sensor and the revs drop,
-
ok then ill try a multimeter first, what should it be,
ive also just been told that if i start the G60 and disconnect it the revs will drop if its working?
is this correct
-
what do u mean by read the resistance across the 2 pins
-
Where would I find this?
-
hi chaps hope you can help me out here....
my G60 corrado has a starting problem, when you go to start the car it takes forever to start, its turning over but just takes about 10-15 seconds to start up, and when it does start theres a strong smell of fuel?
the plugs and distribution cap have all been checked and seem fine,
ive been told it could be the fuel filter? but not looked into it yet
any help would be great chaps
