Mk3 Golf GTI 2.0 16v ABF modified upper intake manifold. Below are graphs comparing the standard and short runner intake on a standard ABF engine. Please note in both cases the engine fuelling and ignition maps were optimised to suit the manifolds fitted. The Blue line shows the short runner torque and power outputs, and the green line shows the standard length runner torque and power outputs. Torque Plot (Vertical axis is torque measured in Ibft) On average the torque increased by around by 7Ibft between 2250rpm and 5500rpm resulting in a stronger feeling engine. Power Plot (Vertical axis is power measured in bhp) The blue short runner plot shows a power increase at all engine speeds. I had the manifold shortened by a local fabricator for use as part of a conversion on my Corrado 2.0 16v to stand alone engine management, but the project took a different direction, so it is no longer required. Hi everyone! I have finally decided to sell my extremely rare ABT 268 VR6 camshafts. I have had them micro polished and they are in good condition oiled and sealed in cam bags and boxes ready to go. They are from my super rare 3.1 ABT corrado so have a cool bit of corrado vr6 history attached. The car was the show car for Mykoo motorsport who were the sole importers for ABT back in the 90's. The car was featured in Maxpower (yes well!!) of which I have a copy!. They have a special hollow centre design that makes them abound 4lbs lighter per cam allowing for faster rotational response in high revving engines. Powerful cams that release loads of power. As you can see form the pics the lobes and bearings have just been micro polished (£40) and are in great condition ready to fit. Hi, I've had these in storage at my parents house for the last year since I fitted the cream leather. It is made up of a set of early Corrado leather backrests, late rear seats and centre bump and 2 x Golf Colour Concept Recaros on Corrado subframes. The seats are really comfortable, with rearly nice large side bolsters. The seats were originally black, but I dyed them using a BMW Oxblood red Furnitureclinic kit, which took me a good week of my life to do. Through use and being stored they have quite a few marks that I've tried to show in the photos, and would really need a good clean and a few hours work with a small furnitureclinic kit to get them back looking their best. There is one part where the paint has come off the arm of one chair and the back rest due to how they were stored, I've tried to show this in photos. However, I really need these gone to make some room for my parents. For a quick sale, I'll take £200 collected from OX29 for them. After much deliberation I am finally selling my beloved Image splits. I have had these nearly 4 years and originally bought them as 7" all round with staggered dishes and offsets but changed them to the following:- 16 x 8.5 rear et 15 with 3" dish and nearly new Nankang 205/40/16's 16 x 7 front et 20 (but need spacers to clear the brakes, see below) with a 2" dish and 5/6mm tread Toyo Proxes T1R 195/40/16's All wheels have powdercoated black centres with powdercoated crackle black centre caps/plates. All but one of the dishes have a ceramic clearcoat done by Image themselves which is very hardwearing and resistant to corrosion ,all you have to do is wash them with hot soapy water, no polishing needed! The fronts have chromed split rim bolts and the rears have stainless bolts. All wheel bolts (16) are included as they are longer than standard due to the wheels design, included also are a set of 20mm hubcentric spacers. I ran the fronts with bolt on hub-centric 20mm spacers to clear my calipers (standard 256mm standard 4 x100 setup) as the backs of the wheels are very flat so the virtual et became et 0. You could probs get away with 15/16mm spacers as there was a little room between wheel and caliper. You may need to have the arches rolled depending on how low your C' is. I have mine rolled and had no rubbing issues whatsoever. The condition is very good although as with anything second hand not perfect. There was a curb mark on the passenger side front which I sanded down but is still slightly noticeable but only close up. The drivers side front has had the ceramic clearcoat removed because of some chemical staining and is polished so does require re-polishing every now and again. Overall they are an extremely good looking set of wheels to compliment any 'rado looking for the deep dish euro style. Bought as a non-running barn find back in 2006 with a blown charger and an inch of dust covering the original paintwork. It's been an absolute pleasure to own, polish, pamper and drive over the years but now it's due time for someone else to enjoy. - The History Inherent with many barn finds the original service manual has long gone from the glove box. Besides from the previous owners pile of MOTs and sale receipts and more importantly the V5, I've added my own mountain of receipts to the ever growing service history. The restoration has been thorough and expensive and it's all here in pictures and paperwork. Having extensively researched the chassis numbers and engine plates via close connections with VAG dealers, I have concluded what you see is what you get with this one, 50k or 250k it's a very very clean and well loved example indeed. - Awards Best Corrado in Show GTi International 2009-2010 Concours runner-up BVF 2009 Autoglym commended VAG day Castle Combe Concours runner-up Westside VW 2009 - Bodywork Finished in original VW Flash Red in overall excellent condition throughout. The roof line, rear quarters and wings are all faultless, the tailgate and bumper is pristine. The drivers door has been repaired in the past, of which the paint match is slightly off in bright sunlight and has a small trolley mark on the swage line. The front end has a few stone chips but overall in brilliant condition for the original paint. All the original rubber and trim is excellent, anything that wasn't has been replaced using genuine parts. NOS (new old stock) front and rear badges (black or chrome). The original 90mm front splitter has a small crack underneath and has faded slightly, I have an unopened original 50mm splitter available in the sale. The rear spoiler works perfect. - Engine Complete rebuild back in 2007 with new everything. All the alloy brackets for the charger, alternator and all ancillary pulleys and mounts have been shot cleaned and restored to original factory look. The charger and brackets have been restored by Darren at the late G-Werks. Includes a new alternator, water pump, all belts and pulleys, all bolted back together with stainless nuts and bolts throughout. The intercooler is standard with new stainless clips on original pipework, a few of the water pipes and intercooler pipes have been upgraded to Samco Silicon. - Internals The internals, pistons, bearings, cylinder bores were all checked for signs of wear and found to be in excellent condition. The sump was replaced after a leak was found and a few stone chips started rusting. The head gasket and all ancillary exhaust gaskets and inlet seals were replaced as part of the head rebuild. - Head The head was rebuilt in 2009 after a suspected head gasket fail. It was found to be a faulty water pump seal. The head was professionally flowed, polished and rebuilt by Oselli racing in Oxford. They've worked on several of my engines in the past including 16v KR and B series engines, their workmanship is second to none. The head work alone added a huge difference to the throttle response and overall torque curve. - Inlet Fully overhauled throttle body with new microswitches, gaskets and springs. The fuel rail wiring also received an upgrade. - Exhaust The exhaust system is a G-Werks 4-2-1 stainless manifold hooked unto a Milltek Sport system. 3" oval tailpipe, with a bespoke de-cat centre pipe and lambda probe boss. Slightly tinny on warm-up when the manifold is cold but soon calms down. Not at all loud on the open road, one thing I was very concerned about when upgrading the exhaust, the Milltek system has the standard size mufflers and bore making the system flow much quicker without compromising on sound. - Electrics The vast majority of the engine bay wiring looms were replaced and updated. New battery terminals and fuse relays for the interior and upgraded earth connections throughout. All stock of course, nothing overly modified or butchered. - Charger Rebuilt by G-Werks back in 2008 and once again checked in 2010. The internals have been de-burred and lightly ported but not overly worked, I believe this is a light stage 2 porting. It's had the wider belt conversion done and lighter smaller main pulley (70mm). G-Werks also installed an SNS chip to compliment the charger, exhaust and aid in fuel consumption. - Chassis I decided to replace all the original suspension with a Weitec GTN kit, which combines height adjustable coil-overs up front and adjustable spring mounts at the rear. Along with the suspension upgrade all the wishbones, track-rod-ends, bushes, nuts and bolts were all replaced with OEM parts. - Wheels I have various wheel options available. The most expensive being a set of NOS BBS RM's, these where bought in Germany back in 2005. They've never been split, polished or curbed and took a great deal of effort to acquire. The centre caps where also sourced from VW's old stock and are all perfect. The date stamped on the back is circa 1998 so this set is one of the last ever produced by BBS. - Also available is a pristine set of Sebrings (the original G60 alloy) with new Michelin tyres. - Also available, BBS RZ's, the one-piece version of the RM. These need refurbishment but come with good tyres all round. I'm open to sensible offers regarding final choice of wheels. - Rear axle The rear axle is or was the next thing to restore on my list. Although in excellent working order it's the only part I haven't refurbished. Saying that the hubs where replaced with the suspension/brake job. Again, as with most parts I have a perfect condition rear axle to bolt on but this will not be done for the sale. - Front axle As you can from the pix this was fully rebuilt and powered coated back in 2011 after the steering rack seals failed. A new steering rack was fitted at the time along with yet more new steering parts, bushes, bolts and fixings. - Brakes New callipers front and back along with pads, discs, Goodrich hoses and wheel bearings back in 2009/2010. With a good few european shows covered through 2009 - 2011, they're all still in excellent condition despite a small amount of surface rust. The ABS system works perfect. - Interior Original Corrado G60 leather option back in 1992. The rear seats are near perfect condition still with original warning triangle in the zipped pocket and NOS unopened first-aid kit in the armrest. The drivers bolsters are all good with minimal signs of wear and the height-adjust mechanisms work perfectly. The whole interior has been stripped out, washed, steamed and anti-bacterially treated. Nothing has snapped or teared, it's all there in excellent condition. All the dashboard switches and light bulbs are working as they should. The slide n tilt sunroof, wing mirrors, rear fog, electric windows all work without fault. Momo Race steering wheel, Original leather wheel is still available. - Stereo I've been through various head units throughout the years but settled on this Alpine CDE head unit with built in Parrot system and discrete iPhone connection, the facia colours match the green VW colours. The door pods have been upgraded to Audioscape with Rainbow components. JBL standard size rear speakers. I bought my car about two and a half years ago because for as long as I can remember I'd always dreamt of owning one. But the time has come to let her go and get something a bit more practical, don't worry it's still a veedub! As we all know once you own a vr6, it's not easy letting them go! So that's why it's for sale on the forum, hopefully she'll go to a good home. (uncontrollable sobbing) So the details: from the pics you should be able to see (hopefully) that the service history may not be full but is very good. She was registered in march 95 and has been in jersey all of her life, which is reflected in the mileage 48,957! One of the lowest I know of! As far as I'm aware the car is completely standard, which is one of the reasons I bought this car over others, you know exactly what you are getting. Since I've owned her I've only had one problem which lasted for a while and drove me nuts, turned out to be a static build up at the back of the immobiliser. Unplug and plugged back in, bingo no problem. Apart from this I've had no problems at all, she drives so well and that roar when you accelerate ... Well you know the rest! As you can see from the pics she's not totally perfect. The worst spot of rust is the drivers door sill, where it's just started to eat a hole. I'm told this isn't that hard to correct. Also theres a spot under the driver side back window. The bumpers could do with a respray. There's a couple of door dings on the doors and a scratch on the passenger door. All in all not bad for a 17 year old car! So that's it really, I've listed everything that I can think of, honestly and truthfully. I've been a member of the forum since I've owned my car although I've only posted a few times. I think that's testament to the car never having any problems. Lastly, this is probably the biggest problem, I live in jersey. Over here we don't have mot or motor tax and I believe the vat needs to be paid when you import a vehicle into the mainland. The fogs and headlights are unchipped, spoiler works as intended, ABS light switches off when it should, blower and other electrics all work, leather in great condition etc... In 2009 I put it on a rolling road and it produced 189bhp (I have the output graphs). The technician took it off the ramp and said ‘not much to say – awesome’. The bodywork needs a bit of TLC - Two rust spots need attention soon and the rear bumper has a paint crack. ALL the electics work - sunroof, spoiler, heated seats etc....All heater dials work as well by the way. It missed its last service in February 2011 so I would recommend the next owner gives it a oil and filter change (it has done less than 500 miles since Feb 2011). Plus it does need two new front tyres. The leather is in great condition and the engine is full of life. Really want it to go to a forum member and in no rush to sell so only advertised here. Its sitting in my garage as we speak so the milage won't change. I bought an S4 in July 2011 and I thought I would just use the C for the weekend, but as it turns out I just don't use it like I thought I would so I can't justify the TAX, MOT or insurance on a car I no longer drive.....so gutted as I'am, needs must. Considering it needs the following ...... 1) TAX and MOT 2) Oil change Service 3) New Battery - doesn't hold charge anymore 4) Two new front tyres 5) Bodywork needs a little attention .....I think £2,250 is fair price. Corrado VR6 airbox and used paper filter element. Good condition, not been modified or drilled. I bought this from Lillfuzzer to use for my conversion to Megasquirt, but plans changed and I went for ITBs, so no need for the airbox. I am looking to get back what I paid for it which was £35 delivered to UK (paypal accepted). Alternatively cash on collection from Southminster Essex for £30.
