banging under car

I have just bought my second rado, a g60 and it has two problems

1. with someone in the back off the car, when you put the foot down it sounds like a hammer hitting the underside off the car at the rear.i had a look but everything looks ok, any ideas!

2. when i change gear above 5000rpm i can hear a high pitch chirping noise is this normal!

 

as you can guess i have no mechanical experience and need help!!!!! :oops:

1) exhaust banging on rear axle. car been lowered? get the exhaust mounts looked at!

2) take the sparrows out from under the driver's seat!!! ;)

ok i will get that checked out asap about the exhaust.

i am guessing the gasses escaping on the gear change is normal,i have owned the car a few weeks and never driven it hard until the weekend, then i heard the noise. :D

The car hisses and whistles all the time when its had the boost return removed..

 

I think it must just be slightly tuned - every single G60 i've ever been in ALWAYS sounds different - you get all kinds of weird whistles, hisses, droans, etc etc depending on which car you go in! Mine makes a cool little whistle / dump valve kinda noise when you change up at quite high revs :D

sounds like tyres rubbing the rims or mudflaps scraping the ground or weak exhaust hangers ( rubbers )

 

just the xtra weight in the back makes the differance.

the banging sounds like the exhaust flapping about

what are the engine mounts like?

if the front one is slack, just a little rock in the engine can send the pipe nuts

Another noise that could be causing the banging is the handbrake cable not located properly

problem solved was under the car today it was the exhaust hitting the axle it is fixed now :D cheers
