Oakley 0 Posted October 26, 2004 Hi All my problems just dont seem to end. Whilst driving my VR, and put my clutch in, The idle sometime dips very low and sometimes cuts out. Other times it looks like it has cut out with the red ignition lights an all for a split second then fires back up again on its own. i am replacing my Lamda tonight but as far as i can tell, that would not resolve that sp[ecific problem. Is there anything else I should be replacing or looking at? What should I do? Oakley

Oakley 0 Posted October 26, 2004 I will have a look at it tonight and hopefully this will resolve this issue. By the way, do you know where I can get MAF sensor and how much they should cost? Thanks Dazzyvr6
dazzyvr6 0 Posted October 26, 2004 im sure vw now do mafs on exchange, not tooo expensive by all accounts
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 26, 2004 According to Nelson Wilbury, it seems VW have now made exchange MAFS obsolete. So it's the full £300 whack unfortunately. Or £150 from a Bosch dealer.
dr_mat 0 Posted October 26, 2004 They've made them obsolete?! Cheeky fecks!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 26, 2004 The Exchange ones, yeah. But they'll happily sell you a brand new one for double what Bosch sell them for, the feckin w@nkers.
belfastfumanchu 0 Posted October 26, 2004 Just while this threads open - wheres the ISV located on the 16v ?
CazzaVR 0 Posted October 26, 2004 To the right of the block, sort of slightly above and behind the dizzy. Just pull the hoses off and unplug the electrical bit.
Oakley 0 Posted October 26, 2004 Problems solved guys, Lamda probe replacement solved fuel consumption and dipping issues by the looks of it. Lamda was a real bitch to replace but I should probably have waited for the engine to cool down first I suppose. Thanks all for the help. Oakley
