mildmanneredjanitor 0 Posted November 17, 2004 OK, so I've just about finished giving the c a little tlc. I noticed that the fuel pipes that go across the engine were not clipped into the retaining clips (they are all perished and just snapped when I tried to clip them back in) but the pipes are quite corroded, and two of them are quite chaffed where, they have rubbed against each other and the brackets that hold the retaining clips. So, my question is: Are the pipes reasonably priced from VW or shall I get some made by a local hose repair place? This is one of those things that would probably be OK for years, but cos I have now seen it... High pressure, fuel etc... May be worth checking the condition of your own??? Finally, is there anything I should be aware of when doing this job? TIA
h100vw 0 Posted November 17, 2004 Buy yourself some new clips from VW and write out 100 times.' I must not use reasonably priced and Volkswagen in the same sentence!!' I am pretty sure they will cost a mint indivdually. I think I have some in my garage but they are the rubber covered ones, let me know if you want me to dig them out. Buy one of these tools so you don't break anything. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_det. ... ir=catalog gavin
