Elboy 0 Posted January 13, 2005 How hard is it to change a Rotar Arm on a 1.8 16v!!! Jesus, I had to completely crumble the thing into about 1000 pieces with pliers to remove it. Has anyone else had this problem?? Every other car i've had it has been a simple swap. The old rotar just pulls off and on goes the new one. Was i missing something and was it glued on?? Why would anyone glue it on?? Unfortunately in the process, the little black plastic ring (which i'm assuming is the distributer O ring) inside the dizzy cap which sits behind the rotar arm just vanished in the wind!! ARrrrggh How important is this piece of plastic and where can i get another one?? Cheers
Henny 0 Posted January 13, 2005 VW glued 'em on for some unknown reason... The plastic bit is just a crud guard and stops bits getting into the dizzy if the cap breaks up... I'm pretty sure that it's the same size as the ones off most VW dizzys so one can be had from a scrappy pretty easily... 8)
