Rossco 0 Posted January 15, 2005 My 16v has 2 fuel pumps one live in the tank and one lives under the car, how many pumps has the G60 got??? Does it have 2 or does it have one, as far as i can see it only has one, the one in the tank but surely there is no way this wee pump can provide enough pressure to supply the old G unit. ETKA says there are 2. As im doin my G60 swap at the mo i would like to know what to do or has anyone that has done the swap before got any info they would like to share Cheers Ross

Supercharged 2 Posted January 15, 2005 Yep, always had just the one unit, the late G60's have the same pump as the VR6
dr_mat 0 Posted January 15, 2005 The single pump unit in the tank actually contains two pumps, iirc. One small lift pump that fills the inner chamber in which the main pump sits, and the main pump is the one that has to deliver the 3.5/4 bar fuel pressure. The lift pump just has to keep the flow rate up, not the pressure. You normally never dismantle this assembly though - just replace the lot in one go...
