24V Renshaw 0 Posted January 25, 2005 What are the differences between VR6 and G60 front struts? Obviously the poundage and damping must be different to compensate for the extra weight. As I understand it the VR6 front shocks are different in another way. I have been told that the part of the strut that is wrapped round the main body creating the two plates that the two large bolts pass through to bolt the strut to the hub is "longer", so that the strut sits further into the car compensating for the wider track of the VR6. This makes sense as when my mate bought a VR6 converted MK2 golf, he could not adjust the camber enough to get the wheels upright, I reckon this is because it was running MK2 (Corrado G60) front struts. Also VR6 struts are as far as I know about an inch longer than G60 ones, is that true. I have never had dealings with a VR6 up until now, so need to check my info. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 25, 2005 I think the bottom spring cup is different aswell. I've never put a "Plus" damper and normal 4 pot one side by side to compare, despite seeing loads of each in my lifetime! One man that will know for sure is Vince at Stealth.
