Carbon Facia

Anyone seen a carbon fibre dash facia + instrument cowl? Thinking about having one made and possible getting the door handles done to match.

 

It would be genuine CF not plastic!

Saw a polo G40 last year with a full carbon dash made by All Smiles, quality was excellent, as expected from All Smiles... Don't think it was cheap through!

Richard's working on a custom part for me at the minute. Just wondering what people think of a carbon facia. If its popular i'll get it done,

I honestly think it could look a bit naff.

 

I tend to find carbon fibre items suffer the same fate as Burberry check. I don't mean it's chav - I mean that even if it's genuine, people just assume it's fake.

facia... hmm not sure on that, carbon never looks too good on tiny areas and theres not alot of facia to cover.

 

i was meant ot have my glovebox done by now but never got round to doing it, tho will when i do my dash swap.

 

i love the mirrors tho. as for facias i always wanted to get a custome metal one mate in like a brushed alloy, say from a laser cutter or something, but its quite a tricky piece to do

I thought you had to have an autoclave and all sorts of specialist equipment? (Or do you have all that gear!!)

I'm planning to spray some of the dash area in brushed alloy over the summer, plus redoing the glovebox door in leather, but this is still at the planning stage. Same with the engine cover etc, time permitting.
