golfg60 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Hi chaps, been a while since i have been on this board but i bought a corrado G60 at the weekend and have a few problems... The gears are hard to select and have noticed oil coming from either the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. Which one is which? The leak seems to be coming from a unit on the back of the gear box.... Is this a diy job or one best left to the pro's? Also, i want to change the gear box oil, is it the same as the golf where you have a plug on the side of the box and top it up until it pours out? Is there a drain plug? Cheers in advance Tom (great to be back in the saddle again!!)
Riley 0 Posted February 8, 2005 worth a quick check under the gear lever gaitor,to see if the circlip has come off the left/right shaft. :D neil.
kongo127 0 Posted February 8, 2005 That should be your slave cylindert leaking some oil. I had the same problem an year ago. Had to replace it! Easy job. Note that gearbox oil has nothing to do with this. There is a drain plug under the box you'll need an 17mm allen key IIRC...
golfg60 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Cheers chaps, i think i still have the trusty 17mm allen key somewhere. I'll check the circlip as well. Did you replace the slave cylinder yourself? Is there a reservoir to top up?
willwoll100 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Think it should just be a disconnect clutch line into slave and cap it to stop fluid running out then remove and replace slave if thats the problem. The reservoir will just be the brake fluid reservoir just make sure you don't let it run to far down and let air into the system. The above is for a VR6 but I'm sure yours is the same/similar
