Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted February 13, 2005 Sounds like your clutch is slipping under power...... new clutch time! (May just be a leak in one of the cylinders though..... would need inverstigating!)

Dirtysouth 0 Posted February 13, 2005 nah, like I said I have use of all the gears, but just not a speed. I think it the clutch but deciding between black diamond and sachs one? any one got any views on either of these?
dr_mat 0 Posted February 13, 2005 SACHS is what it left the factory with. What's special about the black diamond one?
Dirtysouth 0 Posted February 13, 2005 i dnt think there much apart from 30% uprated but nearly 50% more in price
dr_mat 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Do you have 30% more power than standard? (And even the standard VR clutch is happy with up to 250-270lbft, so you'd need to be running serious power before requiring an uprated clutch..)
Dirtysouth 0 Posted February 13, 2005 yeah i think i go for just the standard one my car is stock pretty much have u heard of LUK? couple of hours work u rekon to fit clutch? cheers for your input mate
Riley 0 Posted February 13, 2005 i wouldnt reccomend the black diamond in my experience m8 :) id stick with the g60/vr6 sachs item. neil. :D
dr_mat 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I have an LUK on my VR. They're fine too, also do OEM for VW. The books usually reckon on three hours for a clutch replacement..
Dirtysouth 0 Posted February 13, 2005 kool u rekon euro car parts or German swedish for the clutch. thanks again
Supercharged 2 Posted February 13, 2005 GSF sell LUK ones... don't buy a SACHS - several quality issues have been reported latly and you don't want to be doing a labour intensive job twice!
