potatonet 0 Posted March 13, 2005 mine blinks at me when I go over a hill, except it doesnt blink it stays on. it will stay on for about 15 seconds then start blinking when temp goes up as well. there is plenty of G12 in the tank, and the temp does get pretty high, could this be a bad black sender unit or is something else wrong. Supercharged 2 Posted March 13, 2005 The sender is in the expansion tank itself...
potatonet 0 Posted March 13, 2005 the sender for the temperature is on the flange attached to the head on a G60
Supercharged 2 Posted March 13, 2005 It is indeed but the light you see blinking is the low coolant level warning.
potatonet 0 Posted March 13, 2005 right but why would it blink when the temp goes up, I have plenty of coolant and the tank is 3 months old.
Supercharged 2 Posted March 13, 2005 That will be a faulty sender in the new tank then!
potatonet 0 Posted March 14, 2005 sounds good, sorry supercharged
woody 0 Posted March 14, 2005 Mine used to blink when i first started the engine on on the morning and then if i were to stop the engine and restart it it would settle down and not blink. I have had two new tanks in the last year both with faulty senders in the expansion tank. I beleive it blinks because it cannot detect a flow of G12 returning through the system which arrives into the tank from the small pipe on the upper side of the tank. Last time as a matter of course i also changed the Blue and the Black sensors from the front of the head just in case.
