Tyre choice from Goodyear, Continental, Michelin and Pirelli

Recommended Posts

Looking at new summer tyres for my Corrado VR6. (205-50/15)

Thinking of choosing between:

Goodyear F1 GSD3

Continental Sport Contact 2

Michelin Pilot Sport

Pirelli P7 or P6000

Any thoughts or comments with respect to handling (wet and dry), wear and road noise

Thanks

The Pirellis are nice but soft from what I can remember

I use michelins but Im and old fart now.

The family car had continentals on it,suprisingly expensive to replace

The michelins have no problems for me.

I'd go for the F1's if you have the cash

Yeah I'm an old fart as well, so the more grip the better :-)

Had F1's on my 205GTi and was happy with them, especially the wear and was considering them again....

When it comes to tyres, I always think to myself well I would never climb Snowdonia in sandels so why drive with cheap tyres when you want to go for the Sunday morning bread run.....

*lol*

theres always the day you wish you had not bought them cheap plastic tyres from durex.

I bought the michelins and had to rescue a mate who managed to tip his rangerover over on Ice,the car made it there and back with limited slip.

as for winter I have used Gislaved nordfrosts they seem to do the job if they have a little weight over them.

The trouble with corrados is everybody wants to race them, gits :-)

Have the same problem here in Sweden...everyone wants a piece of my rear bumper...still its an enjoyable sport :-)

Anyhow, car soon to be modified I hope and gain a little extra hp/torque so the more grip the better.

Looks like F1's then fro the summer...

In the winter I have had Nokian Hakkapelitta's which have been very good.

Don't think you'll find F1's in 205/50/15 . I can tell you my Conti S C 2's are very very good, bit noisy but they're 195/40/16

The flagship Bridgestone ones (can't remember model number off the top of my head) are meant to be the dog's dangly bits.
