Graham_E 0 Posted April 17, 2005 just replaced fuel pump and filter and used jubilee's as those clip things are impossible to do back up again, my question is are these used for a purpose or is it ok to replace with jubilee's dont want me lines leaking cos there not secured properly. May sound like a silly question but its one of those things that is just gonna bug me unless i ask.
Henny 0 Posted April 18, 2005 the original clamps are set to a specific tension when new. This ensures that they don't crack the pipe nipple within the rubber hose but yet keep the correct pressure to stop the joint leaking... Problem is that once you've taken 'em off, they normally get over-stretched unless you have the correct tool for the job and so won't put the correct pressure onto the joint causing it to leak... :| Jubilee clips are fine to use as long as you don't either over, or under, tighten them... 8)
