Which tyres for my 16" wheels ?

Nice one oxfordpaul! I did check with a mate before ordering them. He has them on his mk2 16v and mk3 8v and says there great and last for ages. He couldn’t believe the price they are from mytyres at the moment!

 

kevhaywire give those SP9000s a go. Think there the daddys!! I'd have gone for those if I wasnt on a budget.

I´d go with 205/40 front and 215/40 rear. I´ve got 9x16 both front and rear with 215/40. I´ve got the Toyo Proxes T1-S and they are great, especially when it rains, don´t know how the T1-R model is however...

i got 215/40-16 tyres toyo t1-r on my 9x16" alround, is the best alround size of tyre for this width of rim, some say this is overstretched but i dont think so,

what size 205 width tyre gives you the standard rolling radius on a 16" wheel then?

 

The closest to stock (G60) size is 215/40/16

 

G60 standard circumf is ;

1809mm with 195/50/15

 

195/40/16 gives 1767mm

195/45/16 gives 1828mm

205/40/16 gives 1792mm

215/40/16 gives 1817mm

215/35/16 gives 1749mm

 

I'd keep the tyres the same on all 4 if it were me

I'd reccomend 245/45 x 16 on a 9 inch rim and T1r/s are pretty good for a road tyre. R888's or yoko a048's are what you really want tho
