pughey 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Hello! I got a new Corrado on saturday :D propper chuffed! Swapped it for my MK1 golf gti which was an ace car but it was time to move on (had to be another dub). I now know how to fix the annoying heater fan drone and clean my headlining - will keep me busy tonight. The forum is superb - keep up the good work. Do you have any regional meets? dinkus 10 Posted May 4, 2005 Welcome aboard mate, you did the right thing :) We don't have any formal meets as such, but people are quite often arranging get-togethers, so keep an eye on the Event Announcements to see if there's anything coming up near you

Henny 0 Posted May 4, 2005 yeah, they're good fun the early valvers (that's what my first one was)... Quicker than you'd think and they handle better than most other cars out there for the price too! 8)

pughey 0 Posted May 4, 2005 cheers everyone - very warm welcome! couple of questions - sorry - they are not under the correct topic. The interior has been mildly "Chaved" What door pins are original (its got those "pink" halford ones) mk2 golf? Same for the cigarette lighter, mk2? Who is best for floor mats? it has original black ones in but they are pretty worn, are proper vw ones expensive? How can I stop my spoiler squeaking when it goes down? does it just need a grease? what grease should I use? Cheers
dinkus 10 Posted May 4, 2005 I have got one with out holes, but missing one strap! Straps are about £2 from stealers, £45 on ebay
dinkus 10 Posted May 4, 2005 The standard door pins are just black, I've got a couple and a cigarette lighter you can have for £5 if you'd like? The standard VAG mats are about £60 and pretty naff quality, http://www.justmatz.co.uk do really nice quality tailored ones though. a bit of car wax on the spoiler struts should do it - don't grease it though because dirt will stick to the grease and grind away the seals. Jim 2 Posted May 4, 2005 pughey - With regards to the squeaky spoiler, chances are its just the metal struts for the spoiler squeaking against the rubber surrounds on the boot lid.. if you just raise the spoiler, give each spoiler 'strut' a squirt of WD40 around the base.. raise up and down a few times on the switch, and then do it again. I did this to mine as the squeaking was driving me crazy and it was perfectly silent after that :) Floor mats - AVOID VW - the mats they sell for the extortionate price of £56 are cheap tat. If you're interested I have a set of genuine VW Corrado rubber mats i'm looking to sell for around £20? Failing that, order some nice tasteful custom ones from Justmatz :) Lighter and door pins i'd assume you can get from dealership nice and cheap, just like the parcel shelf straps.. as wingus says :)
pughey 0 Posted May 4, 2005 The straps on mine are fine, im guessing they just clip on and off?!? How much gibber?
Jim 2 Posted May 4, 2005 I need to type less, and type faster ;)
Walesy 0 Posted May 4, 2005 grrr...any other cigarette lighters around aanyone ? ill grab one if so :thumb right:
dinkus 10 Posted May 4, 2005 I don't suppose the lighter is Corrado-specific so you can probably pick new ones up from the stealers for peanuts (not actual peanuts)...
pughey 0 Posted May 4, 2005 I shall attack it with WD40 later - if that doesnt work car wax! Those "justmatz" look good, thanks for the advice! cheers guys!
Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Only noticed the other week that my ciggy lighter is out of a Ford! :pale: Felt like lashing it and looking on gaybay for one out of a Yugo (as an upgrade) Edit: Oh aye.. Welcome to the forum mate!
