Happy At Last! Got My C Back with More Power!!!

After about a month in my local VW specialist, got my C back this morning......

 

Work Done:

 

Gas Flowed Rebuilt Head

Schrick 260 Fast Road Cams

50mm Inlet

Magnex 4-Branch

Drilled Airbox only on Wing Side

 

Ran awful on the way down to York to Kershaws, no power and it just bogged everywhere, kept stalling too :(

 

I have to say that Kershaws are the Dogs when it comes to K-Jets........

 

After 1/2 hours fiddling and a few power runs, result 168Bhp@6100rpm and a really nice torque curve!

 

Test Drive was soooooo good, crisp throttle response, awesome induction noise and when it hits 5500rpm it screams all the way into 8000rpm!!!

 

I is loving my car now :)

now that is a result. Cool, so I can look forward to similar figures when I rebuild/flow/port my head. Already got high lift cams to go in, and 50mm inlet - am missing the 4 branch though.

 

Could you post up a scan of your dyno if you have it please?

It is a nice sight indeed!

 

What are you using? A 2.0 engine? Was thinking of sourcing a 9A bottom end to use with a KR head, K-Jet and a suitable gearbox - maybe a G60 for mine.

No It's just a 1.8 bottom end! Revs better than the 2 litre! 2 litre has better torque though!

 

Use the valver 'box 'cos the ratio's will be all wrong on the G60 one!!!

Now thats a turn up for the books - something i own actually being suitable! That makes the BHP figure all the more impressive (and a step closer to me having one in my car!) ;)

Great result - I know when we chatted on Sunday you were hoping for 160BHP, in some ways I miss having a screamer of an engine

would think flywheel, prob about 140 at the wheels!!!! not sure though as didn't ask!

 

whats yours putting out??

Good power, more bhp, but less torque than mine. That would make an interesting race! By the way I expect thats at the flywheel. Mine was about 130bhp at the wheels, 162bhp at the flywheel
