no horn?

my horn doesnt work either of them the relay clicks the fuse is intact there is no voltage at the horn plug, but the horns dont work when wired directly to 12v either this has just happened i havent touched anything electric honest!

Damn post count...i wish i didnt have one....6 per day is my average!...mrs 'c' is constantly sat behind me calling me a t**t ...if im not driving one im sat here reading about them!.....

 

as for the DIY...ive just finished building my house...so its all finished :wink:

billinjahg60, check yer fuses mate! IIRC The fuse is AFTER the relay so the relay will still click even if the fuse has gone... ;)

done that dude! just dont understand why no voltage at the horn plug when horn pushed and the horns dont work when wired directly id expect one without the other! might just take it to an auto electrician as this will go on forever with no joy i can feel it !!

don't believe the fuse box cover... ;) check ALL the fuses as I seem to remember that the one labeled for the horn is actually only for the relay... :roll: :lol:

mine seems to do the same thing - tempremental - though sometimes it beeps fine - othertimes all i get is a relay clicking and a very weak and short lived parp

hi mate, mine is doing the same at the moment. i checked both horns and no voltage and the fuse and relay were fine, local vw specialist said remove the steering wheel and you will find a flap of metal, all that is required is for you to bend it so the horn will make a connection, im doing it this week, but the garage said it was a 2 min job ( that for me usually turns into 3 hrs)!

no, i dont think so but cant remember, if no connection then i suppose that i cant click, not sure though :roll:
