sc16v 0 Posted July 12, 2003 GSF and SVG will do major panels, bonnets, wings, lights etc. Most insurance companys now hav to use SVG parts (non gen but same standard) to cut cost of repairs. As not to write them off. It cant be light damage if needs all that thats nearly a whole front end mate. are you sure nothing will repair.
hustler 0 Posted July 12, 2003 its all near side bonnet has folded over slam panel is twisted bonnet is outta line wing has crumpled back from front like a consertina as has inner wing bumper irom has been pushed into car bumper skin is mashed headlight lens is smashed and fixing points on top of light smashed off inner wing may repair but i think rest need replacing. looks like nothing much but havin spoke to VAG almost dropped my load GSF dont do corrado body parts ive tried them not heard of SVG
Joe M 0 Posted July 12, 2003 I think Euro Car Parts sell body panels.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 12, 2003 Only use VAG panels. The steel quality of pattern panels is not up to the same standard, as I found out to my cost with a MK1 Golf restoration I did some years ago. Kev
hustler 0 Posted July 12, 2003 its an insurence job its not up to me whose panels get used though id like to think they were vag though i believe if they had to use vag it would write off my car. what i need to know is whats a H reg 80k G60 worth in mint condition
sc16v 0 Posted July 13, 2003 Sorry i meant euro car parts not GSF :? SVG is manafacture of quality panels made to insurance standards, i think they are only available to trade. Many of the major ins companies use them, direct line, churchill etc. As regards to price against salavge £2000-2200. I dont expect to you to get £3000. And it doesnt matter what you insured for either. :(
BarneyVR6 0 Posted July 22, 2003 If it's not your fault then you are entitled to a full repair of the car or the cost of a car in exactly the same condition as yours before the crash. So if they write it off use any photos you have of it before the crash and sales ads to make sure you get as much cash as possible. They will make you offers that are below the cost of a new one, DON'T accept any less than what it will cost to either get yours back to pre crash condition or a same quality replacement. Keep refusing till they offer you enough.
