mbradbrook 0 Posted August 12, 2005 Had an MoT done on the VR6 a month or so ago. The car passed with flying colours but the tester said that by front left brake was binding slightly. Indeed, after i'd been on a longish drive and felt the wheel, it was very hot. Anyway, i stripped the brake carrier , took out the pads, cleaned up the pad guides and greased everything with cooper grease. This seemed to stop the binding but after a month it has come back. Do you think i just didn't clean up the guides well enough or do you think i have a knackered bearing? Any advise greatly appreciated. 2cc 0 Posted August 14, 2005 I know it's just been MOT'd, but how thin are your pads? If they are well down then you may have a piston seal hanging up on the outer end of the caliper pot and not returning properly, as there can be some corrosion there.
