fla 9 Posted August 17, 2005 Morning chaps, Not getting an oil temp reading on the MFA and the boots on the spade connectors on top of the oil filter look a bit ragged. I'm thinking of removing cleaning and replacing where necessary. What's the best way to reach the damn things as there is not enough space to get my hand to them? Does it mean removing the slam panel? If so, can the bonnet support arm still be kept in place? Oh and mine's a VR with aircon (not showing off, just to say its doubly cramped!) TIA
MoonlightVR 0 Posted August 17, 2005 Is a b!tch of a place mate. Best to take the drivers side headlamp out and try from there. Make sure you car is cold before you try!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 17, 2005 I had to remove the filter housing from the block (3 bolts) to fiddle about with those but it's easy to do with the headlight out as Asim says, and also working from underneath.
fla 9 Posted August 17, 2005 Thanks for the tip Asim. BTW Kev, i found it bloody awkward from underneath hence the request for better approaches.
