Tempest 0 Posted August 29, 2005 So what? Yup, someone on the German Roccoforum has just been and despite there only being 1 (in words: one) Rocco in the whole Autostadt :-( he spotted these 4 Goof Mk5 R32s, which will be making an appearnce at the IAA (Europe's biggest car show in Frankfurt). He wasn't allowed to take piccies, though. He said that the Goof had twin centre-located tailpipes, chrome grille (deep grille like the GTI, but all in chrome), 20" wagon wheels (what happened to the Eurolook?). OK, some more trivia, this time from Wolfsburg ... I drive a Karmann not a Wolfsburg :-) Tempest
dinkus 10 Posted August 29, 2005 Meh, it'll still have that look of 'ooh there's just been something cold inserted into my tailpipe(s)' about it and still weigh just under 19tonnes. Woop.
martyjmcfly 0 Posted August 30, 2005 I know of a Golf R36 to be unveiled soon after the R32 is unveiled. Volkswagen will also be developing a 1.4 with both a supercharger and turbo charger with approx 170bhp. All this recent engine development is making my vr seem rather dated. I'm sure others are tempted by a new R32 or R36 for that matter!
dinkus 10 Posted August 30, 2005 170bhp in something as lardy as a Mk5 Golf isn't going to be very exciting - unless it's got ooodles of torque.
Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree 0 Posted August 30, 2005 Dump, cack, puke and arsse! make it light and fast then they will come..... VX220 turbo for example, that is what VW are missing. Tempest 0 Posted August 30, 2005 OK, here's an official VW press release piccie, but don't forget before you go drooling (I didn't, even despite the attractive angular camera shot to make the Goof look a wee bit aggressive), it's still a Wolfsburg built Golf, not a Karmann like our beloved and treasured Rados :-) Tempest
