sciroccotune 0 Posted September 5, 2005 I have a 2L16v but have the chance of some 288 carriers and callipers from an octavier. Would they fit on the c? And would I be able to get any 288 discs for 4 stud?....maybe use 280mm discs??
dinkus 10 Posted September 5, 2005 I think they're 5-stud :( I think 280 is as big as you can get on a 4-stud unless you go for some Brembos or similar.

sciroccotune 0 Posted September 6, 2005 bttt :-) could be good for someone with a vr as i hear that the pad area if much bigger on 288's!
dinkus 10 Posted September 6, 2005 I believe the Octavia uses the same brakes as Mk4 Golf, which has a different hub-offset than the Corrado. You can fit the brakes, but you might need some washers and longer bolts to get the callipers to line up with the disks.
sciroccotune 0 Posted September 6, 2005 thank you mr dink...ill add a post to for sale... :-) they willl come with discs if that will make a differance?
dinkus 10 Posted September 6, 2005 It comes from spending far too flippin' long researching brake upgrades  The 288s off a late Mk3 go on fine, but the Mk4 hubs are different, which means the disks have a different offset, hence the need for washers. But what I don't know is if the carriers will line up without washers if you use the Mk3 288 disks. 'tis a baffling array of bits...
