ngrayton 0 Posted September 5, 2005 Hi, I've only had my Corrado a week and it seems to misfire at startup, the revs go between 1000 and less almost to the point of stalling but will eventually sort itself out and start to tick over smoothly Any ideas why this could be? ngrayton 0 Posted September 5, 2005 Just thought it would be a good idea to let you all know its a 1.8 16V Neil
RW1 0 Posted September 5, 2005 You may have an injector weeping. Suggest before starting when you expect it to do it, to take out the spark plugs and look into the cylinders with a torch and examine the piston crown for slight pooling on petrol plus if one stinks of petrol, this cylinder's injector is the one. ngrayton 0 Posted September 8, 2005 I've checked all the piston crowns and they are nice and dry, the spark plugs are quite clean aswell so its not burning too much petrol or oil. Any other ideas? Thinking of getting it serviced by VW, are there any better places I could take it?
Riley 0 Posted September 8, 2005 maybe try unplugging the cold start valve (basically another injector for cold starts) left may show something up? neil.
h100vw 0 Posted September 8, 2005 Another one for you. To build pressure before starting, turn the ign on and off a couple of times. This will fill and pressurise the fuel line. Cold start injector is on the right of the inlet manifold, when stood at the front of the car I think. Gavin

Supercharged 2 Posted September 10, 2005 Thinking of getting it serviced by VW, are there any better places I could take it? Stealth Racing in Warickshire isn't far from you at all, well worth a drive as they really know how to get the power from the 16V engines!
