dsubiela 0 Posted September 20, 2005 Hi people 8) just wondering if anyone can offer me advice about a little problem i'm having. i've got a G60 kreg with 125k which has developed an intermitent clunky noise at the front end, which is independent of engine speed as i dipped the clutch, but related to actual speed. it first happened after a bit of hard acceleration, i pulled over couldn't see anything flapping about to cause the noise, so pulled away and the clunking had stopped. since then it comes back every now and then! could it be the drive shaft? is there a way of checking? thanks for any help you can offer. Supercharged 2 Posted September 20, 2005 Could be a knackered top mount, same sort of thing as 4stud's post above, get it jacked up and check for play in the road wheels...
Neil VR6 0 Posted September 21, 2005 My clunking was a combination of inner CV joints and loose nuts on the top of the suspension turrets. Quiet as can be now :) ......£300 later :(
