VR6 Russ 0 Posted October 19, 2005 Hi all, I just picked up my Corrado VR6 this morning and it has a very annoying problem. The radiator fan kept running for over an hour when I stopped the car and has run the battery flat. I am now stuck at work with my new car and I cant even start it. Has anyone had this problem before and if so how did you fix it. Many thanks and looking for a fairly rapid response Russell
Walesy 0 Posted October 19, 2005 I would have thought it would be the rad fan switch mate...although Im not very good with the Vr6 as i've never had one so there may not be one  (( I would have thought there is though )) It basically tells the fan when the engines hot enough to turn the fan on, and cold enough to turn it off... It'll be located in the Rad, They are cheap and easy to replace. Oh...and welcome to raddo ownership and the forum :D EDIT-- Was 3 mins rapid enough? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 19, 2005 Yep, agreed. That is usually always the culprit. The temp sender has an internal short causing the fan stay on.
edd 0 Posted October 19, 2005 Try not to bump start it if you can avoid it! or at least do it quite softly in 2nd.
VR6 Russ 0 Posted October 19, 2005 The mechanic has just had a look at it and he has already fitted and new switch, and sod's law the radiator started working again, so its an intermitten fault. He seems to think that it is the relay that is at fault so i've got one on order and should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the repliys guys.
