Greenbat 0 Posted October 26, 2005 Got a problem on my G60. It idles about 1500 rpm, and sometimes as high as 2000 rpm. Now when it idles high and I blip the throttle a bit it returns to normal. I have a Mk2 8v Gti and I have swapped the idle stabilization valve with no luck. I have disconnected the blue temp. sensor at the front of the block and the revs drop. Really pissing me off now so need some help. Greenbat
stevemac 0 Posted October 26, 2005 Is the throttle linkage activating the idle pin-switch on the throttle housing ? Sounds to me like the linkage isn't returning properly.
Greenbat 0 Posted November 17, 2005 Hello chaps I have attached a picture, can someone mark or describe to me where the idle pin switch is. Cheers Greenbat
Supercharged 2 Posted November 17, 2005 Whats that pipe between the wiring loom and the runner for the cable...? It's probably miles away but check it's not catching...
stevemac 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Idle pin switch is at the back of the throttle linkage, underneath the black plastic lump that the cable runs behind. The full throttle switch is the one at the front - with the electrical wire atached to it.
