veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted November 16, 2005 Whats the correct way to set up the ignition timing with a timing light? where to get take the readings from , crank or flywheel , and at what RPM? thanks
sciroccotune 0 Posted November 16, 2005 best from fly. does you light do rpm or degrees. If its rpm, set that then turn dizzy till the sharp notch its in the middle of the bell housing hole. If its degrees set to your desired timing (6dbtdc???) the point at the rounded noch on the fly and get central as above. for a light with degrees you can also use the tdc mark on the crank but be carefull that it lines up with the fly. The centre of the hole lights up with a mark at the mid point. Make sure you follow the correct procedure when timing like disconnecting the blue temp sender etc. IM NOT SURE OF IT, please check what to disconnect etc :-) :-)
