Rick_ford55 0 Posted November 23, 2005 Does any one know the special tools you need to work on the various parts of a VR6? I can't even get the rocker cover off as it seems to need a special hex key....... doesnt give me much hope for trying anything else!
RW1 0 Posted November 23, 2005 Draper do the tool for that 6mm & 12 mm hex combination bubble pack. Try Halfords. .
CaiosG60 PWR 0 Posted November 23, 2005 I can recommend this good value sealey set. I bought one myself when I did my gearbox has a big selection of hex, torque and splines. SHould be more than you'll ever need. Part number is AK219 expect to pay from £15 to £22 I think.
Supercharged 2 Posted November 23, 2005 Yep, a set of spline keys (Lidl we're going a cheap set) / sockets (Halfords) are worth buying if you're a DIY VR6 owner along with the metal version of the plug lead tool (T10029 from your local dealer)
