OK VR6 0 Posted November 29, 2005 Hi All, Ive currently got a K&N panel filter and would like a complete induction system. Is it worth upgrading to a K&N 57i Induction Kit or should i get something else? Any ideas will be appreciated.
Jay_vr6 0 Posted November 29, 2005 with all the heat generated by the vr6 a 57i kit isn't the way to go, The bmc cda airbox is probably best, I had one and it worked great and still gave a throaty growl (carbon encosed filter £160 with right adaptor), or a carbonio intake and K+n filter which locates in the front bumper recess, thats what i have now but haven't been able to fit due to a busted ankle :( or there are some enclosed kits on ebay for the corrado that may be worth checking out. Alot of people just say use the original box and a k+n anyway :)
chrishill 0 Posted November 29, 2005 the 'BMC CDA' is the best induction kit for the VR6 by popular forum vote, much more complex than your 57i type kit and gives good, proven results... however its expensive. I've got a K&N cone on mine, sounds utterly amazing (link in my sig) but could be too loud for some. performance-wise... very little difference TBH. Gazman 0 Posted November 29, 2005 Another vote here for the BMC CDA. Changed my standard box to the BMC about a month ago. Sounds great, theres no noticable sound difference until you put your foot down. Even then its a nice growl rather than a deafening roar.
OK VR6 0 Posted November 29, 2005 Cheers guys, where can I get the BMC CDA from?

matth76 0 Posted March 8, 2006 How many of you run your BMC with or without the cold air feed? Does it make a big difference to performance and noise-wise?
VR6 0 Posted March 8, 2006 A lot noisier. Performance ...... I'd have to say that it's only going to improve it by stuffing the feed down the wing. Colder air versus warmer engine air .... ?
lukeage 0 Posted March 8, 2006 I have got a K&N 57i and another similiar type affair and both of them have never stayed on for longer then a week. Never tried a BMC and heard some good stuff. Out of choice of the above its the standard airbox box for me - loads better and a nice subtle sound and a decent level of protection from the engine heat. I swear I lost performance with the cone jobbys and I would not put one on again esp with the warmer weather coming on. A thumbs down for me.
Jim 2 Posted March 8, 2006 Only heard good things about the BMC kit too.. I really reckon it'd be your best bet !
matth76 0 Posted March 8, 2006 Thanks guys. Anyone else here run their BMC without the cold air feed...how did your car feel compared to standard? Did it still rev much smoother?
