Valerian 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Just spoke to my local VAG stealer and he's just quoted me £41 inc VAT for a cambelt tensioner. This is for a 1.8 KR 16 valve 1991......part number for the tensioner he gave me was 051109243. I thought from what i have read on here in the past that the tensioner was around the £20 mark.....did i remember wrong?
h100vw 0 Posted December 30, 2005 From GSF it probably is only 20. Gavin

h100vw 0 Posted December 30, 2005 I have always bought gear from GSF and never had any bother. TBH I haven't heard of any 16Valvers wearing out the tensioners to the point that they break. How long do you need it to last? I doubt it'll be on the road in 10 years time  Gavin
