GrahamU 6 Posted January 30, 2006 I changed the power steering belt on Satarday, the old 1 was very stretched and slipping when cold causing it to judder when cold. After fitting I reversed out of the garage and put on other side of the drive and it seemed OK, no judder but felt a little harder than before to turn. This morning coming to work it would seem I've lost all power steering which isn't so bad when driving above 5-10mph but below and at standstill its a nightmare. It hasn't lost any oil and the belt is still tight. I'm gonna try to bleed it lunchtime, but has anyone any other ideas...? Thanks
GrahamU 6 Posted January 30, 2006 OK, so I've now been sat there for 20 minutes turning the steering lock to lock, had to lift wheels off ground to do it. But still it seems I have no PAS. There are no strange noises from it and when turned quickly from lock to lock the fluid rises and falls in the reservoir. Had a few bubbles in reservoir. Anyone got any ideas. Is there a way to test whether it might be the pump or the rack ??
