Rear brakes

Recommended Posts

Had a loud sqealing from the rear brakes going home last night, when I got home I found the drivers side wheel was very hot and smelly.

I'm guessing the calipers are a bit seized but I cant afford to replace them yet cos I just bought new discs and pads etc to go on this weekend.

I know I'll be fighting a losing battle but is there a tecnique to unseizing the calipers till I can afford or find replacements ?

Use a big screw driver, lie down at the back on the car and lever up where the hand brake cable lever is.

I suspect they will. The 55 year A4s use what appear to be MK4 calipers on a solid rotor.....and, Ford Focuses also use the same calipers and pads.

They're all Lucas and should fit no problem.
