DaveNeedsVW 0 Posted February 17, 2006 I am looking to buy a 1990 g60 but the seller says there are a few problems with the car. The problem that concerns me the most is that he says the supercharger wont isnt making any boost. He also says the car stalls out alot, but i figure thats because of the supercharger. Is this a common problem, or have any of you had a problem like this before? Should i avoid this car? Thanks (:
Blue_Joe 0 Posted February 17, 2006 If the Supercharger is blown then you may well have other concerns, If the internals of the charger detonate it can blow the contents of the charger straight into the block if your unlucky and do more servere damage to the engine itself. Presuming that the charger isn't making boost for that reason! I would prehaps be looking for a better example with a well looked after charger! A new charger is going to set you back a fair packet. New around £1000 British Pounds. 2nd Hand - Upwards of £500 plus a rebuild to be sure!
bcstudent 0 Posted February 18, 2006 I'm sure there are enough G60s around to find a good example. I don't think I'd buy one with a blown supercharger unless it was mint in every other respect and hellishly cheap.
