Browna_27 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Brill - I assume it will be better than a normal g60 clutch kit?. I am not sure of the make of the clutch. I will find out, it is suppose to be an uprated one so it should be ok. :)
G60ING 0 Posted February 19, 2006 I've swapped in a few Vr6 clutches into G60s and the pressure plate has a greater clamping force then the G60 setup. I typically use a sachs clutch but there are few others that are of OEM quality too. In the USA a good clutch can be had for $150-$
Nick 0 Posted May 30, 2006 Resurrect this thread instead of starting a fresh. My clutch has gone in my 91 G60. Engines also on its way out, and prob going 1.8T, so an upgrade to a VR6 clutch would be needed anyway, so it makes sense to do it now. Got a quote of £320 for fitting a new G60 clutch, and thought id phone my local vw garage to see how much a VR6 was, to be told they dont sell them as they are. They do it on an exchange basis, and id have to pay a £20 surcharge. Also, they needed to know engine codes. Either AAA or ABT, and either 2.8 or 2.9. Help?! lol.
