stu 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I found the air temp sensor disconnected yesterday on my VR6. (The grey sensor/blue connecter that sits behind the front bumper on the offside.) The car does't seem to run any different now it's connected than it did do before, and I was wondering what it does, and which system it affects, if any? Rams 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I think you are refering to the sensor that reads the outside temp on your MFA? Not really sure what sensor you mean mate?
Banana Man 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Rams is right it is the sensor that reads the ambient temp on the MFA doesnt make any difference whatsoever to the running of the car as it isn't an ecu controlled sensor
stu 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Thanks for the replies fellas. It's just that the MFA doesn't have a function to display outside air temp.

stu 0 Posted September 3, 2003 My mistake, thanks anyway guys. The display only appears with sensor connected. I would have expected the display to be there, but with no readout. I'll put this down to having a blonde moment or two
G60 0 Posted September 3, 2003 ya i would have thought it would read -40C if disconnected like mine does..
2cc 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I've had fun with this on both mine. Lets just say the circuitry is a bit girly and prone to do different thing different days; long as it works when its connected
