chaz g60 0 Posted March 14, 2006 I changed the black temp sensor on my g60 last week and for the first my temp gauge worked, was sitting between 70 and 80 and then stoped working! could somthing cause the new sensor to brake or are they just crap! ? i got it from gsf and replaced the rubber seal ring aswell. Geo 0 Posted March 14, 2006 I don't think anything can cause them to break. I'd take it back and swap it for another one and see what happens. I don't have much faith in the switches and senders GSF sell though.

chaz g60 0 Posted March 14, 2006 no the nedle slower got up to 70 - 80 and was fine for a few days then just stoped working again, im sure it's the sender, well i hope anyway. I'll go to vw for a pricey one then haha.
Supercharged 2 Posted March 14, 2006 VW ones are a couple of quid more but I've never had a faulty one from them - I have had 2 out of 3 dead ones from GSF tho and the 3rd only lasted a year or so... Also check the state of your coolant - use of hard water can kill sensors (but not that quickly)
