Gas flowed head or Big valve head on VR6

How much does it cost to have a Gas flowed head or (even more expensive) Big valve head on a golf or Corrado VR6 at Stealth? Has anyone else had this done... how much did it cost and what were the approx power gains? Is it cheaper to have this done at the same time as having new cams put in - would the labour cost be much more on top of having the cams fitted?

big valve head for a vr is horrendously expensive mate. haven't got a clue what stealth charge, but i enquired recently (this week) and its around 1300 quid or so for a decent job.

 

whereas you can get the head, inlet manny and throttle body ported and polished for about 350 or so.

It's not worth fiddling about with N/A mods on the VR anymore, not when 24V engines and chargers can be had for around £2K!

 

As said before, 20-30hp for £2K+ of N/A stuff, or 100hp for £2K!

 

£2K sounds a lot as an initial sum, but when you add up the usual suspects in the N/A arena, it easily exceeds that.
