Anyone got their 24v/r32 working with standard Corrado clocks? Or at least with clocks that *look* like standard Corrado ones... ?

The transponder is in the clocks and the engine won't start without them normally.....but I think there is a way round it. Think Coxy knows.

It's all relevant though. It's not like we're discussing how tasty mint toffos are in a 24V thread is it??! :-)

All ya gotta do is PM Mr VR6, Mr Renshaw or Mr Laaad and they'll tell everything you need to know.... if they're willing 8)

LOL - mint tofos are horrible by the way, mint aeros are nice!

double-6s, i'm guessing 24v's have air and oxygen sensors of some sort so you'll prob need them as well. But I am guessing so PM one of the above...

well mate, for 1200 quids I got the following:

8000 mile 24v

ECU

Full loom labelled up for the C clocks and fuseboard

Inlet manifold

Exhaust manifolds

TB

MAF elbow piping

Temp senders plus thermo housing etc.

The manifold heatshield

The carbon canister (its minus its switch which is the important bit, but I cant find the other one. might be a case of just robbing the switch from a scrappy.)

The dipstick

auxiliary air pump and associated pipes

crank case breather pipe

mk4 relay plate and other parts of loom.

mk4 clocks circuit board

Ignition barrel (actually still attached to the mk4 steering column as I didnt have time to seperate it - I dont need it anyways)

MAF

Key - I have taped this to the side of the MAF just to be safe.

So quite abit but most of it obvious I think.

...oh, and the twin CATS

All I need now is a downpipe and 4 lambda probes, so guess that's the list of what you'll need too.

LOL, yep, 1 before and 1 after each CAT.

The chip Stan has removes the need for the 2 after the CATS though as they are only really there for diagnosing a dud CAT.

I'll see your 3.1 12v and raise you a 24v. 8)

I doubt a 3.1 12v will have the same low down punch as a 2.8 24v, its just newer technology, VVT, and variable inlet manifolds, better engine managment. It would be silly to persist with the 12v when you weigh up the pros and cons

2k isn't bad for that. You're going to fit it yourself?

A 5000 mile 24v would look just as tasty though

edit: as you can now see thanks to Mr. laaad

yeah that does look rather nice eh?

turns out the 24v i was 'looking' at didn't have clocks, ecu or keys! :(

it was one of the vw racers selling it, and they use stand alone management.

but i'll be honest, the more i hear you lot say, the more i'm leaning towards the darkside and 24v's. traitor ;)

In the end we shipped the 24v from Durham to Colchester for 60 quid, and then I drove over through the tunnel and picked it up in a van. I had to collect a wardrobe and some other stuff, plus visit the parents/freinds etc. too though.

I found a Dutch pallet shipping company that would ship it from Durham to Delft for 300 euro though (with 2k insurance value), so if I didn't have other bits to pick up would have gone that route. I doubt it would be much more from Germany to the UK.

Phat is selling a set of clocks, keys and ecu for a 24v motor for 250 quid I think, check out his for sale thread

CoxyLaad - so is it just the clocks, keys and ecu that have to match? can that matching set go with any engine? i guess the ecu is the relevant bit?
