VAG-hag 0 Posted April 11, 2006 I have black diamond brakes (drilled and grooved + pads) all round and they are still rubbish, with massuve fade. Truth is if you want good brakes on a Corrado you prob need a decent upgrade. Its my main gripe with my Corrado
steve_16v 0 Posted April 11, 2006 If you haven't already done so it would be worth changing the brake fluid
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 11, 2006 Truth is if you want good brakes on a Corrado you prob need a decent upgrade. Absolutely! The VR6 is quite a heavy car with a lot of nose weight and the brakes VW chose to fit to it are no where near good enough imo. All they did was up the Master Cylinder size 1mm...wow! I'd say the bare minimum a VR needs is the 288s with some decent metal and pads.
VAG-hag 0 Posted April 11, 2006 I'd say the bare minimum a VR needs is the 288s with some decent metal and pads. Indeed. I plan to look into this further (there are some good threads on here about it) - All down to the budget tho :(
Henny 0 Posted April 11, 2006 also worth investigating your wishbone bushes, top-mounts and balljoints... if they've gone soggy, your brakes will feel all over the shop... :|
kop10320178 0 Posted April 11, 2006 thanx for the advice i will change the brake fluid the brakes seem to work fine but when u really slam on the pedal seems to travel excessively near enough to the floor
KADVR6 0 Posted April 11, 2006 just buy these, and sell your present brake set up, this conversion is so effective, got mine working 100% today and it feels like the back end is coming of the road when i really stamp on them, 8) http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40181
