Interesting noise!!

Howdy.

 

My vr engine really is feked now and is making new noises each day. Its not a huge problem as its not me daily any more and I'm looking for a new engine anyway. So your diagnosis won't freak me out!

 

But anyway, today's noise made me laugh....... almost like 2 iron girders (small) being rubbed against each other under load!!! Lol.

 

Any idea what that might be? There's also a background noise thats a sort of deep rattle (?) which I'm thinking is bearings of some sort.

 

Would love to know what the 'girders' noise is though :)

Have you looked at your water pump? Mine made a death noise when it was in the process of trying to grind itself to death!

ooh...... its been using water recently. doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere else i can see.

well maybe a wee bit from the side of the block :)

It sounds much deeper than that Trig. rattle is the wrong word I guess.

take it down to the phirm. get em to look at it..

Get s crewdriver on the block and put the handle on to your ear, you'll hear if its bottom end as the sound will travel through the screw driver!

 

Or just stop fannying about and get those extra valves installed :lol:
