288mm brakes- what Hubs?

I am confused....again

What cars came with 288's?

I know the mk4 gti had them from day one, so did the mk3/corrado that had them have the same offset hub as the mk4?

so to fit mk4 front bakes or brakes designed for a mk4 platform you dont need any spacers?

Am i way off or what?

Late mk3 Golfs (higher spec ones) came with 288s, earlier ones were 280s. All Corrado VR6s came with 280s, not 288s. You don't need spacers to fit 288 calipers and carriers on a 5 stud Corrado/Golf mk3 hub.

thanks, so inrder to use the mk4 brakes there is no advantage with the later highline hubs?

It's only the 312s that need moving 6mm inboard. The 288s go straight on as Andy said with no other modifications. You might need Golf highline 288 discs and carriers though as I'm not sure what offset the MK4 discs are, probably the same as the 312s I would have thought.
