quicky1980 0 Posted May 12, 2006 ive hooked my boot lock to a solenoid so i can open the boot from inside the car. Ive hooked it up to the cars old rear wiper feed. only problem is the boot tries to unlock multiple times, can i make it so when i press the wipe button (boot realease) it only sends a single feed? sciroccotune 0 Posted May 12, 2006 if yo are still using the relayed feed from the wiper then it will do that, i guess you could fit a different relay or maybe just wire up an open/close switch to the stalk (if i understand what you are doing correctly)
quicky1980 0 Posted May 12, 2006 is the relay for the boot wiper different to the front wipers? does anyone know which realy i should use?
Riley 0 Posted May 12, 2006 on my ol' mk1 i took power from the washer feed, this is just constant 12v for as long as you hold the stalk back. neil. :)
quicky1980 0 Posted May 12, 2006 a ha, thats where i may have gone wrong. because ive done it on my mk2 golf and that never did this
sciroccotune 0 Posted May 12, 2006 bit on the nasty side if you use the rear washer at 60+mph....may be better with a switch.
quicky1980 0 Posted May 12, 2006 well it'll help with downforce and cornering :) when i get chance ill wrie it so i can use the wiper switch but only when ign is off. and link it to my alarm
Riley 0 Posted May 12, 2006 aye, sounds like its taking power from the actual wiper feed and running through the relay as sciroccotune says :) i cant just picture the wiper wiring on the rado...stick a 12v tester on a couple of the wires and flick/hold the lever back to find the right one. neil. edit:forgot the quote button! flusted 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Im using the same thing on mine, push stalk back and boot opens lol,you cant use the wash wiring as that goes to front of car. Im guna slice the wire at the stalk and wire to a switch
quicky1980 0 Posted May 12, 2006 oh well guesse ill have to just wire it up to the alarm then, no worries.
