stealth-cobra 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Hi does anyone know how bad work is to change thermostat in G60 Corrado engine? Is that so easy at take the mask off and pump the car little bit on air and change it that way, then take off the hose and pull out the old thermostat? 2_Door_fun 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Hi. Its not a big job, Get under the car and remove the power steering reare alloy bracket. Its 2 bolts that go vertically into the bloc and 1 bolt that attaches to teh pump. Once this is off you will see the plaxtic stat housing. 2 bolts and then ya get wet. The housing will pull away easy and the stat will jsut drop out. No worries at all. Fit new stat refit housing with new 'O' ring and refit pump bracket. Fill the car up from the top rad hose and also fill up from the hose that the two temp senders are on. This will get water into teh water pump rear chamber. All done in less than 20 mins. I actually have a how to wrote on this but can't upload it yet. Problems with the site. Hope it helps
Henny 0 Posted May 20, 2006 I'd advise that you also change the plastic thermostat housing (only a couple of pounds) as they normally crack (due to weakening from heat stress) when you re-fit them resulting in a trip to the dealers anyway!
