DUB 0 Posted May 26, 2006 Yet again on opening the bonnet to my girl {was looking at the Alternator} out of the corner of my eye, i could see a drip {hose that goes in to the front of the engine which comes from rad} small drip on idle hate to think what its like when i'm drivin! replaced cack std hose clip with some cool 16mm wide jubilee clip's that i obtained from work, only to find its coming from the gasket/joint to the engine > also happening in lesser degree on the same kind of joint on the right hand side of the engine, just spoke to a parts kidd at GSF when i went down but he didn't have a clue what the gaskets or jionts were called let alone knowing if they stocked them, can anyone help? am getting worried what i'll find when i next open the bonnet
Supercharged 2 Posted May 26, 2006 Do you mean the plastic temp sender flange?? If so you need to replace it and the O ring as the plastic warps with age, it's worth doing them all while your at it - thermostat housing, side of head and radiator elbow... Tempest 0 Posted May 26, 2006 Get those parts from VAG, as I don't think GSF does them TBH. Did my side flange last summer. The original flange is no longer available, you now get a flange where you then have to buy an additional stop, that plugs into the non-used outlet. Crazy, I know, but it seems to work.
