Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 I didn't measure what my drop was, but it's now sitting at 59cm front 60cm rear. My insurance need to know the drop.
VR6 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Just tell em 50 or 60mm.
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 I did guess 60, but by then I'd said I didn't know!
VR6 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Ring them back and say you've just: Put the original suspension back on; Measured the height; Re-fitted your new suspension; Had the camber re-done; Measured the new height ....and it's officially 53.46973 mm lower than before and just pray to god that's good enough for them. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 31, 2006 59 front and 60 rear is a 50mm drop....as that's what mine is ;-)
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Made no difference to the insurance price anyway. Fukwits
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 31, 2006 Better to declare it or they'll say "policy void, you didn't tell us the lowering height" w@nkers.
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Then I said I've bought an ARB, which I said goes under the car, "no it doesn't" they say "it goes in the car in case you roll over" Not sure where that ended up, think them might think it's a strut brace.
VR6 0 Posted May 31, 2006 They'll be thinking you've fitted a roll cage  Muppets.
Walesy 0 Posted May 31, 2006 The main reason that Brentacre are easy to deal with, John knows exactly what he's on about when it comes to adding modifications
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Aye, I think I'll be changing next year!
blackcat 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Excuse me for asking a silly question  but when you say its 59cm front, 60cm rear, what points do you measure between?
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 To the top bit of the arch? I didn't have time to adjust mine before I put it in for camber adjustment, so I got the garage to level it.
VR6 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Measure between the centre of the wheel and where the tape measure first contacts the wheel arch (vertically obviously).
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Measure between the centre of the wheel and where the tape measure first contacts the wheel arch (vertically obviously). Mine were measured from the floor
VR6 0 Posted May 31, 2006 What if your tyres are squidgy?
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 60 cm would be a bit far from the middle of the wheel IMO :) Proper 4x4 height
VR6 0 Posted May 31, 2006 I didn't say that's how you had measured it!
Taggart 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Well I got suggested to try 60cm, and kinda guessed where to measure it. I think it's a fairly mute point for me anyway, as they'll prob need adjusting after they've settled.
bcstudent 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Off-topic but did the Royal Mail manage to get that indicator loom to you without losing it? If so, was it any good?!
