Help! Please My Rado Has Died

Recommended Posts

Hope someone can help me. Yesterday my misses drove me to work in the rado and on her way home there was a ping noise from the engine and she lost power instantly and the car died. Me and my dad have tried putting a new ignition coil on but its not that. There are no sparks showing to the spark plugs or the coil i.e theres no power getting to them. The engine turns over so its something to do with the ignition. It tried to cut out the night b4 otherwise there were no obvious warning signs that it was about to lose power. Any ideas, any help is much appreciated ? I have a 1.8 16valver.

:( :( :(

if its a valver it might be the live feed to the dizzy, have you checked all fuses? is there a relay clicking when you turn the ignition on? if your 94 your dad might not be much help!!

Might be nothing like this but i was driving the g/f's Gti and the cambelt took 4 teeth off, the car wouldn;t start. I kept timing it and changing the igniton timing but nothing would happen. Spun the motor with sparks out and with a 19mm socket, as it came round 4 teeth were missing.

New cambelt all good.

Not too sure about this,

But I did hear that valvers have a problem with oil leaking into the dizzy,

Just a thought.
