Rico 0 Posted June 23, 2006 Think the starter may be going on the rado, it'd refused to turn over 3 times now and then eventually will just start as if nothing is wrong?!?!? Any clues?
bcstudent 0 Posted June 23, 2006 So, when it 'refuses to turn over' is there a click from the solenoid or nothing at all?
White2505 0 Posted June 23, 2006 had something similar recently. it was the ignition switch.
Rico 0 Posted June 24, 2006 No click just nothing at all, and only seems to happen after a long run?? I'm thinking its probably the ignition switch. Does ECP stock them?
bcstudent 0 Posted June 24, 2006 It's very likely to be the ignition switch. For the price of them I'd definitely change it.
Supercharged 2 Posted June 25, 2006 Try shaking the key from side to side in the barrel when it won't start... Make sure you buy a genuine switch, pattern ones are poo...

BeavisJem 0 Posted June 25, 2006 Just check this, my car wouldn;t start today so i poped the bonnet and noticed the switched live from the ignition to the starter had come off, its sheared out of the clip so there is no where for me to connect the cable. Can you buy the clips new Any ideas Beavisjem Sorry don;t mean to hijack the thread
Supercharged 2 Posted June 25, 2006 BeavisJem, do you mean the plug on the red/black cable to the soleniod? - if so yes and they're not much.... check your engine mounts too....
BeavisJem 0 Posted June 25, 2006 Yeah the plug with red/black could the engine mounts have moved enough to shear the cable? Beavisjem
Rico 0 Posted June 26, 2006 I'll be checking that too cos my engine mount is gubbed! (new one ordered)
